Detox your mind even through busy schedules

Self Care is one of the most important needs that assists in functioning normally. If your life seems stressful, and you try to fit 40hrs of work in to a 24hr period, I can totally relate! It's hard to squeeze in time for your own mental health, but if you can integrate these easy, daily habits, you will be able to start detoxing the chaos taking up space in your brain.


  1. This first option is pretty simple but soo effective, being that our own thoughts can greatly affect how our day goes. So a little something you can try is to sit in the quiet and imagine yourself in a happy place. Allow yourself to picture your ideal place of peace. Use all your senses. What do you see? What do you feel? What can you hear? What do you Taste? Imagine it exactly how you would feel at your happiest. Give yourself 5mins to just sulk in that peace. You'd be amazed at how a quick couple of minutes doing this can help detox your mind, even if it is a couple of minutes at a time.

  2. A second option is to continually create a positive environment around you. One easy way to do this is by sticking sticky notes in plain sight. Write down positive affirmations that have a significance for you. Keep them on your bathroom mirror, in your car, anywhere that will serve as a reminder that YOU can create the environment of peace around you.

  3. The third option does take a little more time, time that some of us may not have, but can still be effective if you use your time wisely. Weather it's in the morning or evening, make your daily showers/bathing time, a time of production and peace. As you turn the water on, make an affirmation, that the water you are about to submerge yourself in will wash away all worry, stress, or just the plain goop of the day. Imagine that the water purifies your mind, body and soul. Imagine that it creates a protective barrier to deflect anything that the day may throw at you. You'd be surprised at how effective this can be for creating a peaceful environment.

All in All, these are some simple, basic steps, to integrate self care in to a hectic daily schedule and still accomplish detoxing your mind. It does not have to take up much time, so don't let the idea of "I don't have time for that" keep you in that endless loop of anxiety.
